The “Days of Our Lives” star died suddenly on Sunday, his manager confirmed to Variety.

WASHINGTON — Patrick Muldoon, best known for his roles in “Days of Our Lives,” “Melrose Place” and “Starship Troopers,” has died. He was 57. 

The actor died suddenly on Sunday, April 19, his manager confirmed to Variety. 

According to TMZ, Muldoon died after suffering a heart attack at his Beverly Hills home Sunday morning. His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told the outlet he had spent Sunday morning at home with his partner before going to take a shower. He was found unconscious on the bathroom floor by his girlfriend. 

Muldoon originated the role of Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992-1995 and 2012 to 2012, he also had a recurring role as Richard Hart on “Melrose Place.”

His acting career began with two episodes of “Who’s the Boss?” followed by three episodes on “Saved by the Bell.” 

Just two days before his death, Muldoon shared an Instagram post about his excitement being an executive producer over a future project starring Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton.

“So excited to be a part of this amazing project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazzie Beetz And Alec Baldwin. Filming now in Australia,” Muldoon posted on Instagram. 

According to Variety, Muldoon’s latest acting role was in “Dirty Hands,” an action thriller by Kevin Interdonato, set for release in the U.S. on April 24. The synopsis reads: “When a routine drug deal goes bad for the Denton brothers, they must fight for their lives if they’re going to survive to see the next day.”
